Challenge: In 2016, the NYC Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association re-branded itself as CaringKind, the Heart of Alzheimer Caregiving. They changed their focus from "finding a cure" to "supporting caregivers." The new brand didn't have any budget to promote its new brand, and yet promoting the brand was key to their survival.
Solution: In 2018, I created and launched a podcast called "
Caregiver/Storyteller" which featured powerful first-person stories from Alzheimer's caregivers. The podcast had no expenses and punched above its weight - it quickly became the #1 caregiving podcast on iTunes and drives new donors to CaringKind.
Award! The podcast won the
2020 Innovations in Alzheimer's Caregiving award from the Family Caregiver Alliance, which came with a pretty sweet check for $20,000. Not too shabby!
